Have you ever wanted to visit one of the most famous hotels in the UK and perhaps the world?
At the Royal Crescent you will certainly get your moneys worth! Ok its not cheap by any means and you would need an excuse like a birthday or anniversary room rates start at £360+ a night and that would be a classic room and really if you are going to stay there I would suggest a bigger room that you can enjoy.
When you arrive at the hotel and have planned valet parking you will be greeted by the concierge who will know your name as they like to give the personal touch. They will ask for your car reg number when you make your booking, they are not psychic haha. once you have arrived you will be shown around the hotel and then to your room and left to your own devices. You could easily spend your entire weekend in the hotel and chilling out in the spa but there are many places to explore in bath. Such delights as:
Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, Open top bus (Weather depending) , fudge kitchen
One of the main things that everyone wants to do when they visit Bath is to go to Thermae Bath Spa. Its a great spa, it has a large indoor pool on the lower ground floor, a restaurant on the first floor, Wellness suite on the second floor and a open air rooftop pool on the third floor. They also have treatments suites on the lower, first and second floor. They use treatment brands Aromatherapy Associates and Pevonia this place really is fantastic and worth a visit but I will worn you it gets ridiculously busy and at times you will feel like a sardine. On weekends they have people lining up and they have signs that say you have a two hour wait!.. There’s me thinking that you would only find this at Alton towers.
This is the most frustrating thing as you can’t book for just a spa session. I would suggest going in the week and in the evening, bonfire night is a great night as you can look at the fireworks from the roof top pool. I would go but please be warned that you might have to wait.
One of the main things that I love about Bath is the food and the independent restaurants there are over 400 restaurants in this small city but here are my favourites:
Martini’s is a fab Italian and has an amazing atmosphere and everyone that works there is Italian the food is amazing and drinks are great too. This is probably one of my favourite restaurants and you will know why when you go there.
Acorn vegetarian is somewhere I visited recently and it was stunning! my friend and I decided to go all out with three courses as I was told that the portions are quite small. We had matching wine with each course and it was total perfection! I would suggest this place even if you are not a vegetarian as you will be surprised with how imaginative they are with the dishes they make.
See pictures that I took below.
On the opposite end of the spectrum if you are a lover of steak then you really must try Hudson bar and Grill. This is where I had the best steak that I have ever tried in my entire life you will certainly not be disappointed. Would suggest going for a special occasion her as its quite pricey and you definitely need to book if you are going to go on a weekend.
If you have any more questions on Bath and places to visit please comment below and I will be happy to help and make some suggestions.
Until next time
